The identity for Zack Snyder’s Justice League film is inspired by typography from vintage comics. It is bold and monumental like the superheroes themselves. In addition to the hero mark, we developed an icon for social media using a contemporary interpretation of the shield that has been a part of the identity from the inaugural issue.
Working with Jeremy Mickel we extended the logo typography into a complete typeface we called Justice League Super Condensed which includes Latin and Cyrillic characters. As always we were thrilled to see the logo parodied in a segment on The Daily Show.
